Art Therapy ~ One-to-One Sessions

Sessions are available for Women and Young People (Adolescents) ~  no referral is required. I provide a safe, confidential ‘holding space’ for individuals who have experienced trauma, mental health challenges and also Mothers who need support with parenting, relationships at home/work and with their own wellbeing.  I companion whomever I am working with, by offering compassion and presence and customise my nourishing work to Women’s needs and preferences for therapy, using creative processes and a wide array of art materials.

I draw on my former roles as a Registered Nurse in offering Art Therapy, which is a form of Counselling or Psychotherapy. My approach is trauma-informed, emergent, co creative and uses a collaborative approach, informed by the work of Dr. Janina Fisher and her globally renowned trauma-informed stabilisation model, (TIST). I also connect to teachings distilled from studies in  ‘Mindful Self-Compassion’, Eco Art Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Gestalt Therapy, in the work I offer.

Focus is on a shared  ‘creative inquiry’ using various arts mediums that may include: clay, paint, drawing, collage, movement, natural objects, textiles, doll making, writing & poetry, images, sculpture, photography, symbols or rituals ~ rather than creating a polished art piece. No prior art experience or expertise is required.

I am a Registered NDIS Provider and can support people with plan managed or self managed NDIS funding packages.

I offer sessions at my ‘Thresholds Studio’ in Castlemaine, Victoria and Online session are also available.
